Who Attends:

This CPCS Red Card Crane Supervisor training programme is designed for Supervisors and Slinger Signallers who will be supervising lifting operations.

Course Aim:

The CPCS Crane Supervisor course aims to instruct delegates how to safely supervise a lifting operation to ensure compliance with the law and secure the health and safety of all employees and of those who may be affected by their actions 

Course Content: Days 1-3:

  • Introduction & explanation of CPCS qualification.
  • Legislation controlling crane operations.
  • BS7121 & LOLER Regulations explained.
  • Crane appreciation.
  • Crane stability question paper.
  • Lifting Accessories.
  • Safe Slinging.
  • Mobile crane selection.
  • Signals.
  • Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
  • Supervise a lift scenario.
  • Practical Induction.
  • Question Paper..

Day 4:

- Theory & Practical assessments for CPCS Red Card Crane Supervisor.

Knowledge:

On completion of the CPCS Crane Supervisor training course delegates will have sufficient knowledge and information to safely supervise lifting operations for mobile cranes on a busy construction site. Delegates will be advised of the necessary managerial and practical considerations in supervising lifting operations and will be given the opportunity to put this information into practice, during simulated workshop lift plan exercises in the training room.

Method:

A high proportion on hands-on demonstrations and practical exercises will be supplemented with classroom based tutorials and pre and post course assessments.
